Resin Brooches

The Resin Brooches are a sketchbook for developing ideas and experimenting with diverse materials and techniques.

Each brooch is individually unique due to the method of production.  Small sheets of material are cast then sliced and joined together before being cut and polished.
There are unusual combinations of inlaid natural materials, bright resin chips, marbled tones and graphic  stripes.

Brooches & Tie Pins

Tapa Brooches
Ronald`s line drawings, inspired by Tapa Cloth
patterns, reveals a subtle Asian influence in
the use of colour, illustrating  the visual
 connections
 that exist between cultures even
 though the application has changed.

Round Brooch

These nickel plated  brooches and tie pins have been transformed with the delicate use of handpainted colours, from pastel to deep tones as well as inlaid materials. They are finished with a clear high gloss resin surface.
The  pieces originated from hand drawings and computer  images as well as the drawings of Ronald & Karen`s son Lucas.

The Round brooch with its three areas of disimilar materials became the outline and inspiration for the Table Landscape series
