This eclectic group has diverse origins with the dishes originally made around 1995 in brightly coloured resin, later to be cast in a crushed aggregate mix. The shapes then formed the basis of the ceramic organic bowl range.

 

The Sophie Dish is taken  from a sketch of Sophie's hair tied up in a bow when she was a toddler.

The organic shapes were first developed for resin. Originally cast in bright colours, they were originally inspired by dribbles and pools of paint on a palette.

The dimple bowls with crackle and satin fiinshes have a sensuous tactile quality.

The second series involved casting the bowls with crushed aggregates. This led to the development of candle and incense holders, creating a miniature landscape and providing some of the ideas for the ceramic architectural ideas.

 

In this series the shapes have been plumped up and edges rounded giving a voluptuous form to the bowls.

The concept of taking an idea out of context is behind this series of ceramics inspired by the diverse elements of landscape, architecture, skateboard parks and Chinese food.

The food bowls are contained within the block form, which is a large, shaped bowl with smaller recesses for dipping sauces.

Handpainted patterns are etched and washed with colour to create textures that contrast with the smooth white surface. 

These versatile pieces can also be wall mounted or placed upright as a sculptural form.

This series of interchangeable pieces was inspired by a Chinese coin.

Within the range of shapes in various colours and textures, new compositions can easily be arranged to create a Table Landscape. Starting with the small dipping dishes to the half- round plates, all pieces can be intermixed or be used on their own.
