Inspiration is drawn from their
Chinese and European origins
 whilst incorporating elements
of Pacific culture and the
New Zealand landscape to
produce their high quality
range of designs.
Along with their unique view
of design, many of the pieces
 have become instantly

    Matariki Keystone
This stunning centrepiece is the second piece in the
Keystone series and reflects ideas from the Lights of
Matariki Project. With Karen exploring several patterns
painstakingly pieced on each surface to create
the illusion of a lightweight object.

    Baby Waves

been captured in our new petite version.
Which includes  a posie  version of the Flower

      flowers.

      Lights of Matariki
Exploring the themes of Matariki has developed
into a project of 7 lights each accompanied with
        an original poem.
In all their are 6 poems and a nursery rhyme
        called the Seven little stars
written by Genevieve Mclean and sung by Grey
Lynn Primary! The collection and poems are
included in Matariki 09 at Corbans

     Waves Vase
This asymetrical vase was inspired by Japanese
      woodblock printmaking and Chinese ceramics
exported to Europe in the 18th & 19th Centuries.
Along with ceramics, tea and all things Chinese a
trade imbalance quickly arose nearly bankrupting
England and Europe. This amongst other things lead
to forced trade with opium as a way of rectifying the
imbalance, 7 of the world powers at that time invaded
China creating a Western foothold in Hong Kong. The
Boxer Revolution, disintergration of the last Dynasty,
the Japanese invasion and eventually China as we
     know it.

The West is once again hugely in debt to China,
     History repeating itself?

      Hearts
     Who can`t resist?
A new variation of the Discus series.
Dried lotus leaf and gold leaf line work
with crumble leaf are inlaid into resin and highly
polished. This piece was created for the 75th
       Birthday of Ronald`s mother.
