Torso
These Torso and Body details forms Chan Andreassend's first products ranges. The initial body fragments were treated as individual objects and as other pieces were added to the collection they were able to form a vignette of a face as well as a frieze or mural with a number of fragments arranged together. In all 62 different designs have been sculpted since they were first released in 1982 . Over 16 000 pieces have been sold in Design and Home stores making it one of the more successful collections of handmade objects in New Zealand. They are still handmade in the original moulds. With the use of resin production techniques further pieces were developed including keyrings, magnets, jewellery boxes, paperweights and bookends. The body continues to be an inspiration , with new ceramic pieces from Bowls, Lights and Jewellery. |
