Objects of Light
The ceramic lights continue to developed into increasingly diverse and sculptural ideas, from the intricate Butterfly and Flower Lights to the sculptural objects of the Torso collection and the recent Family Heirloom objects of the teapot and anvil. The ambience the lights create is one of the desired attributes of the work and is captured in the smallest of pieces such as the Baby Waves through to the Sculptures. |

This new series celebrates family history and stories beginning with the teapot and anvil which can be seen reflected in the window. Matariki Keystone 650mm wide
This stunning centrepiece is the second piece in the Keystone series and reflects ideas from the Lights of Matariki Project. With Karen exploring several patterns painstakingly pieced on each surface to create the illusion of a lightweight object. Mandarins, Sheiks and Faraway Places
"These four pieces are about legends and fables that I would read when I was young. Polynesian Islands, Arabian Nights, Castles and the most intriguing of all were the ones from the Orient. The spices, perfumes, splendid silks, spells and urns that always seemed to contain hidden secrets or a magic spirit. The form is inspired by Chinese perfume bottles with the lids becoming more elaborate reflecting headdresses and costumes from the stories" ...Ronald Photo of Paisley Torch light
