Our new jewellery concept is inspired on the theatrical costumes and performances of the Bauhaus school of Design from the 1930s as well as the Last Waltz sculptures, its a fun way to create as no two pieces are ever really the same as the next. Looking forward to discovering more ideas for homewares and art!

NIGHT CIRCUS coinciding with "Art in the Dark" in Western Park, a mere stones throw from Ponsonby`s longest running Art Studio and largest Artist Collaborative! Chan Andreassend & The Arts Menagerie 3 nights of spontaneous creative happenings- doing things we do well. 7-9 November at 5 Rose Road Ponsonby. 8pm till late Its open to any proposals whether performance, costume, making, sound or light installations etc and like the best things in life its free! It took a while, the Last Waltz series finally got big enough to go outside at averaging 1600mm high, two selling on opening night with a third finished overnight fill an exhibition invitation! Developed to be dismantled in three pieces enabling shipping to become alot more viable. The base cone can also be constructed hollow so it can be filled with a weighted material like sand of pebbles or pinned to the ground depending on the location The State Flux and all that dwells within...........its more than a passing nod to Bauhaus in both images, objects and intent. Changes are afoot, some say that is what brings out true creativity but why it has to be during a recession I`ll never know! The Arts Menagerie launches its first group exhibition with the question "Who are you? " How would you express the artist within as an illuminated artwork? Over 20 artists exploring aspects about themselves as well as working with new found skills. Works include table, wall, and suspended lights to installations and video. As well as a few surprises! At last! 60 hours of work finally achieved some results. The first program kept crashing while rendering the video, editing isn`t something that comes naturally, but at least I learnt some new skills if at times I wish I hadn`t started at all. Fortunately I was able to get find the music Fluid Azure by Pierre Gerwig Langer through Vimeo.com I`ve been waiting for the right time, some inspiration and in the meantime a decade has ticked by since my last foray into clock making. It could be worse, time might have just passed me by altogether.
Like several of the last directions The Waltz clocks were inspired by a summetime sculpture project called The Last Walt which was a result of my Summer play things. Inspired with some ideas, I get to play around with resin components, branches, leaves, paintings, explore whatever I want and just as important no two are alike. The best of machine, art and handmade.

(yes its real) Inspiration, power and passion with a climatic finale Soundtracks to mirror the creative process, From the intensity, anguish and relief at finishing a collection after its due by date, to the torment of viewers dissecting efforts like a day old sandwich. Or even worse give it scarcely a glance. The pain of rejection or the exquisite taste of success. Its enough to send chills down your spine, make the feeble weep and the strong gasp in pain.
