Some preview photos of tonights Gala Opening of the Baradene Art show. Got invited to exhibit more ceramic lights a few hours before the opening -33works in total. Its good for business and doesn`t hurt the profile either
The next stage in the Waltz series, doubling in size to 700mm. Its a good size to have fun with detailing and ideas.
Still finishing 3 ceramic lights but 22 resin sculptures, paintings and lights are ready to go! All for the Baradene Art Show . Now in its 23rd year, this event showcases over 600 pieces of work from over 100 contemporary NZ artists including emerging and established artists. Gala opening 18 May in Remuera, Auckland 6.30-9pm. tickets online. This is where Art means Business. The next stage in the Waltz series has been started ranging in size from 600 to 1100mm, mainly using cast resin. Already thinking about the outdoor versions too 1.8-3metre would do me fine! I`ll need a courtyard out the back next.
Play is in full flight with vague ideas, forgotten prototypes, experiments and leftovers. Somewhere in there are the new ranges and art pieces. Creativity without purpose, its as good as a holiday.
We are not exhibiting at the Auckland Showgrounds this year, instead the studio will be open before ,during and after the trade fair till 7.30, later if required. Located at 5 Rose Road just 25 metres off Ponsonby Road with undercover parking. It will be good not to have the hassle of offsite exhibiting for a change, plus we have the advantage of being able to display far more products than ever before.
Plus you`ll be able to see some of the murals across the road starting with the portraits by Otis Frizzell. The 400 metre long project will take several months and will involve several groups. |
